Working Principle Of A Screw Pump

A screw pump works by using the rotational motion of a screw to transport liquid from the suction end to the discharge end. A screw pump typically consists of a driving screw and one or more driven screws. The driving screw is driven by a motor, while the driven screws rotate synchronously with the driving screw via gears or a timing belt. The helical grooves of the screw form a sealed cavity with the inner wall of the pump casing. As the screw rotates, this sealed cavity moves from the suction end to the discharge end, thus achieving continuous liquid transport. Screw pumps feature stable flow rate, low pressure pulsation, and low noise, making them suitable for transporting high-viscosity liquids, liquids containing solid particles, or corrosive liquids. Screw pumps are widely used in the petroleum, chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
